Stand Out Kidman is an actress and comedian, bringing to mind the couple’s complex romantic and professional relationship.

Shia LaBeouf wrote the screenplay for the autobiography about a child actor and his relationship with his own father. We follow Oates, who is traumatized after several days on the set with his father, a former radio joker. LaBeouf actually plays a role inspired by his father, which gives Honeyboy even more psychological layers. It’s an interesting, cinematic therapy from a single point of view.

Over the course of a week, Peterson follows Peterson, a bus driver and poet, who listens to passengers, takes his dog for a walk, and stops for a beer at his local bar. Adam Driver alone enables him to see all this endlessly. Tied to strange characters living in a New Jersey town, Peterson wisely presents life, exploring personal shocks and new avenues built around them.

Prime Video must be an Adam Driver fan. He’s starred in several of its original movies, including Paterson, Annette and this political thriller, which is based on the real-life investigation into the CIA’s interrogation practices after 9/11. The film follows Senate staffer Daniel Jones (Driver) as he works on the titular report and shifts back in time to convey the use of torture by the agency. It’s an ambitious drama with a well-constructed narrative and convincing cast that also includes Jon Hamm and Michael C Hall.

Wonderstruck (2017)

Adapted from a young adult novel by Brian Selznik (who also wrote Hugo Cabret’s invention), the film tells the story of two children who live in different periods but one, alternating between bold color and black and white. Like going on a trip. Ben is a new orphan who, after losing his mother (Michelle Williams), finds his missing father in 1977. It’s the second day, tracing a silent movie star (Julianne Moore) 50 years ago. Separated over time, their routes meet in New York City. Coming from director Todd Haynes, this family-friendly film is full of adventures and child-like surprises.

The Electrical Life of Louis Wain (2021)

In this biopic, Benedict Cumberbatch features English artists, inventors, businesses and the city of Louis Vuitton. Set at the end of 19 Kids, it follows a man who carries a stray cat and makes real cat paintings that are world famous. They also reflect his own falling intellect. A well-felt drama with the main performance of Cumber Beach, this hot portrait is from the eccentric, it is not uneasy to tell you why.

Sound of Metal (2019)

Sound of Metal scored a bunch of Oscar nominations, including best picture and best actor for the outstanding Riz Ahmed. (It won in two categories: best sound and best film editing.) He plays Ruben, a punk-metal drummer who unfortunately starts to lose his hearing. As well as struggling with a drug addiction, Ruben is forced to settle into his new life in the deaf community and to learn American Sign Language. The film’s stunning sound design immerses you in Ruben’s suspenseful story and the experiences of those around him.

Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot (2018)

If you liked Joaquin Phoenix in Joker or Her, this is another movie where her acting is fully visible. Phoenix played the late cartoonist John Callahan, a Portland-based artist who became quadriplegic at the age of 21 and loved black humor in his work. “Don’t Worry” tells a story about addiction and recovery, and the time we spend with its main character goes well. Jonah Hill has been the dedicated sponsor of Callahan, and Jack Blake and Ronnie Mara are also on the cast.
